Dr. Sourjo Mukherjee

Dr. Sourjo Mukherjee is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the School of Business, University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD).

He completed his doctorate and advanced research master’s degrees from ESSEC Business School, France. He also holds a postgraduate degree in management from the Indian Institute of Management at Rohtak and an undergraduate degree in engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata.

Prior to joining UOWD, Sourjo worked as an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Audencia Business School in France from 2019 to 2022 and then at BITS Pilani – Dubai Campus for one year. In addition, he has taught several marketing courses in the Global BBA program at ESSEC Business School, France.

Sourjo is a consumer researcher specializing in behavioral issues in marketing. His work has been published in multiple top-ranked academic journals such as the International Journal of Research in Marketing, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Business Research, and Journal of Consumer Behaviour, among others. He serves on the editorial review board of the Journal of Business Research and Psychology & Marketing and acts as an ad-hoc reviewer for several top peer-reviewed marketing journals. He has presented his work at leading international conferences organized by the American Marketing Academy, the European Marketing Academy, and the Association for Consumer Research (ACR) Conference.

Sourjo adopts a student-centric approach to teaching, creating a safe and stimulating environment that fosters student confidence and engagement through innovative pedagogical techniques. He has taught a wide variety of courses, including marketing metrics, managing services and relationship marketing, customer experience and branding, digital marketing and social media, marketing research, consumer behavior, and international marketing, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Before pursuing his academic career, Sourjo worked in different roles (sales, business development, brand management, supply chain) in multiple companies across several sectors (e.g., Schneider Electric, Tata Motors, Berger Paints).
